IIT Kharagpur admissions are both merit & entrance-based. The college accepts national-level entrance examinations for admission to specific programmes. The entrance examinations accepted for BTech are JEE Advanced, JEE Main, etc. The university releases a merit list to announce the names of shortlisted aspirants.

The application fee is INR 500 for GE/EWS/OBC Male/ Transgender candidates and INR 250 for all Female or PwD/SC/ST candidates. Students must also pay the GATE application fee, while application. The same is as follows:

IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology will release 6 rounds of JEE Main cutoffs for admission to BTech in Electrical Engineering. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
