The cutoff trend for BTech at IIT Jammu has been increasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for BTech under General category for all India quota was 13048. In 2023, it increased to 14589. Likewise, the cut off ranks have increased from 4903 to 4906 for OBC, 2398 to 2660 for SC, 1128 to 1212 for ST, 2085 to 2487 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for Engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Materials Engineering is 17296 which is very close to this range. This was for General category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Jammu.

The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, closing rank was 10,005 in 2024. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, closing rank for female candidates was 18,177. Admission to B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering in IIT Kanpur is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. For 2024, IIT Jammu Round 5 cut off was 6310 for General category candidates in All India quota for BTech. in Computer Science and Engineering in IIT Jammu. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 12,108 was the closing rank. BTech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

Based on your SC category rank of 3200 in JEE Advanced, it may not be enough for getting admission into IITs into your desired branch like computerScienceengineering. Yes, while applying for the MTech programme at IIT Jammu, a student has to first register compulsorily on COAP portal. It is also mandatory for all candidates with valid GATE score to register at COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) and use the COAP registration number while filling the application form of IIT Jammu. The application fee for M.Tech registration at IIT Jammu portal is INR 200 for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates and INR 300 for other category candidates.

IIT Jammu offers a two-yearM.Techprogramme across six specialisations. Admission to this course is based on a GATE score followed by COAP counselling.
