While the short-term goal must be to clear JEE Main, the ultimate objective must be to qualify JEE Advanced exam, check out the NCERT8 strategy for JEE Advanced. 

At the time of JEE Main registration and final seat allotment via JOSAA students must keep the following documents and information ready for a smooth application process:

• Valid email-id and mobile number
• Academic details related to the Class 10 and Class 12 qualifying exams
• Scanned copy of category certificate (if applicable)
• Scanned copy of PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Scanned photograph and signature as per the specification mentioned by the NTA
• Net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI details for application fee payment

The total tuition fee for IIT Jammu is INR 8 lakh. Other than the tuition fee, students have to pay other one-time charges and those who opt for hostel facilities are required to pay an extra amount for it. To answer the second question of whether IIT Jammu BTech fee is expensive or not, the fee for all IITs is almost similar to each other. However, it is comparatively less than other top BTech colleges such as BITS where the BTech tuition fee goes up till INR 19 lakh. 

The vacant seats reserved for SC, ST and PwD candidates are allotted to the candidates of respective categories for admission to a preparatory course of one-year duration on the basis of relaxed admission criteria .

Admission is given to the candidates in the preparatory course provided

(i) the seats reserved for the respective category are vacant,

(ii) candidates have not accepted a seat in the preparatory course earlier.

All the IITs run preparatory courses of one year duration for SC, ST and PwD candidates intended to prepare them to pursue the academicprogrammeto which they have been allocated. At the end of this course, candidates are declared as ‘pass’ or ‘fail’.

On successful completion of the course, the candidates are offered direct admission next year to the already allotted undergraduate course.

Candidates admitted to the preparatory course are also eligible to appear in next JEE (Advanced) subject to fulfilling other eligibility criteria.
