The institute has signed a study abroad agreement with Auckland University of Technology (AUT), Auckland, New Zealand, The Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, The University of California, San Diego and The University of Texas at Austin among others. These agreements will give B.Tech final-year students a chance to study one semester at a foreign University.

Yes, IIT Palakkad offers a two-year MTech programme in six specialisations. These specialisations are Geotechnical Engineering and Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, Data Science, Power Electronics and Power Systems and System-on-Chip Design. To be eligible for the MTech programme at IIT Palakkad candidates need graduation with 60%. The selection of the candidates who are eligible for the MTech programme happens through GATE and COAP Counselling.

The total tuition fee of the MTech course at IIT Palakkad is INR 10,000 for the entire two years, although there are other components that might be added to the total tuition fee at the time of admission. The courses include BTech, and MTech in the Engineering stream.
