Admissions:
Admission to BTech (Electrical Engineering) is done through the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) while the MTech (EE) is made through Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM).

The qualifying marks for JEE Main to be eligible for admission to IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) vary from year to year and also depend on several factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates appearing for the exam, etc. However, to be eligible for JEE Advanced (which is the entrance exam for admission to IITs), a candidate must secure the cutoff marks or be in the top 2,50,000 rank holders of JEE Main. This cutoff is based on the category of the candidate and is released separately for General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD candidates. It is important to note that qualifying for JEE Advanced does not guarantee admission to IITs as candidates also have to clear the JEE Advanced exam and fulfill other eligibility criteria such as age limit, educational qualification, etc. The final admission is based on the candidate's rank in JEE Advanced and the choice of their preferred IIT and branch.

Admission to NITs and IITs is based on the performance of candidates in the Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main and Advanced respectively. To be eligible for JEE Main a candidate must have passed their class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Additionally, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board examination.
