No, following the completion of the sixth round of seat distribution, there won't be a spot round at any of the IITs. Based on their rankings in the JEE Mian 2024 or JEE Advanced exam, each candidate will be assigned seats and courses at participating institutes. Online access to the JoSAA seat allocation result will be provided following each counselling.

All the NITs/IITs do have state quota. The reservations are 50 percent seats to the home state quota students and the remaining 50 perecent seats are with the students of other states. These reservations are based on the state of residence not on the 12th percentage of the students, that means student might need to present his/her domicile while filling the forms for respective IITs/NITs.

It is never a given that an IIT's JEE Advanced question paper will follow the same format or have the same degree of difficulty. One of the most often-asked questions about the JEE Advanced exam is also a myth. The pattern and design of the question paper are independent of the IIT being conducted.

Yes, you must apply for JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling if you wish to gain admission to the participating schools (IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs) and you have qualified for JEE Advanced 2024 or JEE Main 2024. For all participating institutions, JoSAA is in charge of the centralised counselling and seat allocation procedure, which is dependent on the candidates' ranks in either JEE Main or JEE Advanced 2024. JoSAA is used for the whole admissions process, which includes seat assignment, acceptance, and reporting to the designated institute.
