The definition of a good IIT can be subjective. The candidates who wish to get admisison to the first generation of the IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee must have a high score of 250+ marks out of 360 marks. However, this is not applicable for all courses offered by these IITs. Every course and IIT has different demand and seat ratio which effects the admission of the candidates. Hence it is very difficult to say what will be the minimum score or rank required in JEE Advanced to get into a good IIT.
Candidates must aim to score as high as possible in the exam to be abl

The eligibility criteria for admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs are decided by the institute and not by NTA. JEE Main eligibility criteria decided by NTA are only meant for appearing in the examination. The details about eligibility criteria for admission to the institute are provided by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), the counselling authority which admits students to these institutes. For details about the eligibility criteria for admission, candidates can visit the JoSAA website. Candidates need to score at least 75% marks in class 12 to get admission in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Candidates belonging to SC/ST need to h

IIT Bhubaneshwar JAM cutoff 2025 has been released for Round 1, wherein the closing ranks varied between 127 and 589 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. So, if you belong to the General category and have a cutoff rank above 589, you can also consider other IITs such as IIT Tirupati and IIT Palakkad, for which the IIT JAM first round cutoff ranks were comparatively less competitive for admission among the General category. Tabulated below is the IIT JAM first round cutoff 2025 for IIT Bhubaneshwar along with IIT Tirupati and IIT Palakkad cutoff ranks for students to make an informed decision.
IIT Bhubaneswar | IIT Tirupati | IIT Palakkad |

The eligibility requirements for IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) did not involve a minimum percentage or marks in Class 12 for the majority of participating institutes. The eligibility criteria for IIT JAM are largely concerned with the bachelor's degree and the minimum marks or CGPA necessary to secure in that degree.
Candidates for the IIT JAM must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55 per cent aggregate or 5.5 CGPA/CPI. Apart from it, candidates also need to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admissions. Candidates found unfit to pursue his/her science course can be deni

As per the MSc cutoff 2024, the closing rank for Integrated PhD in Geology is 72 for the General AII India category students. For Round 1, the cutoff rank was 71 for the same course and category.
In comparison, the IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2023 for Joint MSc + PhD in Geology for Round 2 closing rank was 63 for the General AI category students.
