In addition to applying to various UG and PG programmes offered by IMU and its affiliated institutes, candidates must register on the IMU admissions portal in order to be considered for admission to a number of DGS-approved pre-sea programmes, including DNS, B.Sc. (Nautical Science), and B.Tech. (Marine Engineering) at any of the DGS-approved MTIs located throughout India. Based on the scores obtained in the IMU-CET, Rank Certificates will be given out. IMU-CET ranks will be used to determine admission. Admissions to BBA programmes will be determined by the quality of applicants' 10+2 grades.

For admissions to BBA Programmes, the candidate needs to register with CUET credentials in IMU-CET portal. For all other programmes, candidates who wish to apply on basis of CUET/CMAT/MAT/CAT/GATE/PGCET scores should apply during Counselling Process. The portal of counselling is different from IMU-CET registration portal and will open after release of IMU-CET rank list.
