IMU CET 2024 Application Form: The Indian Maritime University (IMU) has released the IMU CET application form 2024. Candidates can access the IMUCET registration link on this page below. The last date to apply for IMU CET 2024 is May 5. The IMU CET application form is available in online mode only on the official website, imu.edu.in. Candidates have to apply for IMU CET 2024 for admission to BSc, BTech, UG Diploma, MTech, MBA, PhD courses offered at IMU campuses and IMU affiliated colleges. Before applying for IMU CET, candidates must check IMU CET eligibility criteria for the course they wish to take admission to. The IMU CET registration process includes filling out personal details, academic details, uploading scanned documents and paying the application fee online. IMU CET application form 2024 is only released online on the official website, offline forms are not available. Q:   What is the application date for IMU CET?

A:

The online IMU CET application form is out on March 18. The last date to apply is May 5. The official date for application form and other events has been announced by the Indian Martime University. Candidates can apply for IMU CET 2024 through Online mode only. The link is made available on IMU’s website. The IMU CET online application form consists of three portions:

  • Personal Details
  • Academic Details
  • Payment Details

Candidates have to fill in these three portions. Once the payment is successful, the candidate’s dashboard will appear, from which they can download the filled-in application.

 

Q:   What is IMU CET application fee?

A:

The IMU CET 2024 application fee is as follows:

Application Fee for Registration for BBA:

  • INR 200 for General /General-EWS/ OBC (NCL) candidates
  • INR 140 for SC / ST candidates.

For all other UG and PG Programme/ Research Programmes:

  • INR 1000 for General /General-EWS/ OBC (NCL) candidates
  • INR 700 for SC / ST candidates

Q:   How do I apply for IMUCET?

A:

Fill in complete educational details such as passing year, percentage, board name, etc in the IMU CET online application form. Upload photo, signature and other documents in the prescribed format. Pay the application fee through debit card/credit card/net banking. Preview the application form and then click on the submit button for the final submission.

 

Q:   How do I confirm if my IMU CET application form has been submitted or not?

A:

Automated e-mails/SMS is sent to every IMU CET registered applicant on successful registration of the application. After the IMU CET application fee is paid, candidates can check the dashboard for printing the online form. The online filled-in form must be downloaded for the candidates' reference. Do not send the printout to IMU.

 

Q:   For taking admissions through CUET/CMAT/MAT/CAT/GATE/PGCET, do I need to register on IMU-CET portal?

A:

For admissions to BBA Programmes, the candidate needs to register with CUET credentials in IMU-CET portal. For all other programmes, candidates who wish to apply on basis of CUET/CMAT/MAT/CAT/GATE/PGCET scores should apply during Counselling Process. The portal of counselling is different from IMU-CET registration portal and will open after release of IMU-CET rank list.

Q:   Why to register at IMU Admission Portal?

A:

A candidate has to register at IMU admisison portal for getting admission not only in various UG & PG Programmes of IMU & its Affiliated Institutes but also for admissions to various DGS approved pre-sea programmes: DNS, B.Sc (Nautical Science), B.Tech (Marine Engineering) in any of the DGS approved MTIs across India. Rank Certificate will be issued based on the marks secured in IMU-CET. Admission will be based on IMU-CET ranks. For BBA, admissions will be based on merit of marks scored in 10+2 level.

 

Documents to Upload in IMU CET Application Form 2024

Applicants are required to register online by uploading the following scanned documents

  • Passport size photograph
  • Signature of the candidate
  • 10th Standard Mark Sheet
  • 12th Standard Mark Sheet (wherever applicable)
  • UG Degree Mark Sheet / Certificate (wherever applicable)
  • Category Certificate in respect of SC / ST / OBC (NCL) candidates
  • Economically Weaker Section Certificate in respect of GeneralEWS Candidates
  • NCC Certificate (if applicable)
  • Special State / Nativity Certificate (if applicable)
  • MEO-I / COC Certificate (Applicable for MTech candidates who are Seafarers)

Q:   I have uploaded the wrong Photo/ID Proof/Signature in IMU CET form. How can I correct them?

A:

You can edit the photos/id proof/signature till the time IMU CET application is not fully submitted. Hence, please be careful to assume that you have filled it correctly. Once the form is submitted after payment, any mistakes in the form cannot be corrected. Candidates have to register from the scratch again.

 

Q:   How can I convert CGPA to percentage in order to complete the IMU CET Online Application?

A:

Candidates have to multiply the Grade Point with 9.5 in order to get the percentage. Rounding-off of percentage is not permitted. The candidates awaiting result can use the option AWAITING RESULTS and after getting the marks should upload the marks by using EDIT option. Only 10+2 marks can be uploaded. No other details can be modified.

Step 1: Registration

  • Candidates have to visit the official website of IMU and look for the IMU CET registration link.
  • Click on the link and fill out the basic details like full name, contact number, and email ID.
  • Create a password of choice.

Step 2: Filling out the online form

  • Once the registration is over, fill out the online form.
  • Furnish the personal and academic details asked.

Step 3: Uploading scanned images

  • Candidates have to upload the scanned documents as per the specifications.
  • Scan the required documents and upload them in the online form correctly.

Step 4: Paying the application fee

  • Candidates have to pay the requisite fee.
  • The fee is to be submitted using the available online payment modes.

Step 5: Final submission

  • After the fee is paid, candidates can check the dashboard for printing the online form.
  • The online filled-in form must be downloaded for the candidates' reference.
  • Do not send the printout to IMU.
Important: The candidates who wish to apply based on CUET scores for UG (except BBA) are not required to register for IMU CET and should apply later during Spot Counselling registration for UG Programmes (except BBA).

Q:   I have appeared for +2 Board Exam in 2024 and my results are not yet declared, how can I complete Academic Details in IMU CET application?

A:

Candidate has to choose “Result awaited” option in the IMU CET application form. However, they have to fill the Roll No, Board details etc.

 

Q:   I forgot my User ID/ Pass word for IMU CET Registration Portal, is there any way to recover the same?

A:

Yes. There is a link “I forgot my pass word/User ID”, below the IMU CET Registration Form. Candidates have to fill the same. The User ID/ Pass word will be sent to the candidate's email ID registered at the time of Basic Registration.

 

Q:   I made mistake in name/DOB/Marks in IMU CET application form and I had successfully submitted the application. Can I correct the details?

A:

No. Once the IMU CET application form is successfully submitted, there is no way to correct the same. In such case, candidate has to apply afresh with new email id and mobile number. Hence the candidates are advised to exercise caution.

 

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for IMUCET 2024

Candidates can check below the eligibility criteria for IMU CET 2024 before filling the online form:

IMU CET eligibility for 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) – Residential

Criteria

Description

Educational qualification

  • 10+2/equivalent (PCM-Average: Minimum 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination).
  • Marital status – Unmarried.

Age Criteria

Maximum age: The reference date for the calculation of the age will be 01.08.2024.

  • For Males: General-25 years, OBC (NCL) - 28 years, SC/ST-30 years
  • For Female: General-27 years, OBC (NCL) - 30 years, SC/ST-32 years.

Relaxation

For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks. A relaxation of 5% in English marks will apply to candidates who are natives of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and belong to their Scheduled Tribes and who & both of whose parents were born in those islands & belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands.

Medical conditions

 

Physical Fitness: Candidates seeking admission to this Marine Engineering Programme must be medically fit including eyesight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000, as amended.

Eyesight:

  • There shall be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or of the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk of aggravation or recurrence.
  • Candidates must possess good binocular vision (Fusion faculty and full field of vision in both eyes). Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all directions and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.
  • Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara Test Chart. Distance Vision unaided 0.5*(6/12) in each eye or 0.67*(6/9) in the better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in the other eye.

 

Medical certificate requirement

At the time of admission, candidates will be required to produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by doctors approved by the Directorate General of Shipping.

Note: Transgender are eligible for the B.Tech. (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) & B.Tech. (Naval Architecture and Ship Building) and they should meet the requisite eligibility criteria.

B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years, with an average of not less than 55% of the marks in the final year.

OR

  • B.E./B.Tech Degree from IIT or from a college recognised by AICTE with an average of not less than 50% of the marks in the final year.
  • Marital status: Unmarried

Note: The candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th / Degree Examinations.

Yes, you can apply for IMU CET. But make sure at te time of IMU CET counselling you have completed class 12 and have passed the board exams. Make sure to check the eligibility criteria needed for the course you wish to apply for.
