Distance MBA degree certainly adds value to your resume (for a person who completed their graduation). However, there are not many firms which hire candidates with Distance MBA for managerial roles. You ask me for a justification for that? I'd simply say, there are people who had done full-time MBA and are still waiting for jobs.
Having said that, if you have a distance MBA after having Masters in your technical field that might get you into a pretty decent job. No one can assure it though.
You can use the knowledge you gained through that distance course to become a better professional and climb up the organizational ladder once you get into the firm but when it comes to the opportunities, my word still stands. It is hard to get into managerial roles with a distance MBA with graduation. This is the current status in India when it comes to opportunities for candidates successfully completing their distance MBA.
Pursuing MBA through correspondence will give you knowledge if you really put in the required effort but when it comes to a job abroad, it is very difficult. Let's hit the reality and have a look at supply-demand graph. We are having more supply (people completing full-time MBA) compared to demand even overseas. So, if you have a chance, prefer doing full time MBA which will fetch you a good job in India or abroad depending upon the institute you pursue your MBA.

I completed M.Com in distance mode but what makes the difference is not that regular or distance but our interest to learn the subject. You don't have to mention anywhere that you did your M.Com in distance mode including your resume. People ask- what is your qualification, they don't bother about that how you did it whether regular or distance but employer will definitely asses your knowledge on the subjects at the time of interview. You know, this is the reason that there are few employees just done graduation or PG from distance placed in good companies while PG from regular are still in search for good job.

It depends on every academic year. Like for stats. In 2008-2009 batch, it was a bad time. Packages were meagre and enough to render you as "salaried " person. It was the recession time than in the year 2012 (my passing out the year). So-called "good" packages ranged from 4- 4.75 LPA. Madura Lifestyle was paying those salaries then the following year saw a better footfall of good companies. For instance, Trident Industries paid the highest package of 9 LPA. And now again in 2015 passing out batches have bagged some good packages from many startups and biggies like Flipkart and Snapdeal. Now that apparel as a category is a serious player in the fortune of these e-commerce sites. They have now started recruiting students from NIFT campuses. A rather welcome change. So if it's an undergrad course, expect a good salary in the range of 5.5-7 LPA and if it's a Master's degree course then you can get up to 11 LPA.
