These tests are conducted in March-April after the IIFT entrance exam result is announced. Candidates who clear the IIFT entrance test are shortlisted for the Writing Skill Assessment, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview, conducted in several cities. The shortlisted candidates' list is prepared on the basis of cut off marks and the final selection depends upon the candidate's overall performance in all of the rounds.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi admit candidates to PhD courses based on merit in the written examination conducted by the institute. Candidates shortlisted based on exam score are further required to participate in the personal interview round. The final selection for PhD at IIFT Delhi is further done based on overall performance in the exam and the interview round. Selected candidates can further confirm their seats by paying the required fee amount.
