Most of the time, admission into the B.Sc. Forensic Science program at the Institute of Forensic Science, Mumbai, is based on the marks obtained at HSC (12th) and other eligibility criteria for the course.
As a rule of thumb, admission is based on a minimum percentage of 50% at HSC or equivalent examinations with subjects in Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics) related to it. It, therefore, remains almost completely dependent on the applicants and their final selection number of seats available.

One has to apply online through the official website of the Institute of Forensic Science, Mumbai. The institute admits students based on merit and requires a relevant Bachelor's degree. Application dates for the 2024 session: May 21 to June 8. Following submission of the application, the first merit list will be released on June 10 and admission form submission dates will range from May 25 to June 11.
