The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition Hyderabad admit candidates to MSc HA course based on merit in the NCHM MSc JEE exam. Candidates are shortlisted based on the exam score. A cutoff list is released to declare the minimum required marks for selected. Candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff marks have to take part in NCHM MSc JEE counselling. During the counselling round, the seat allotment procedure is carried out.

The eligibility criteria to get admission into the MSc course at IHM Hyderabad is that candidates must complete their BSc degree in any stream from a recognised university or AICTE-approved institute. Additionally, for admission, the institute accepts NCHMCT MSc JEE scores + NCHMCT counselling. To get admissions into MSc, candidates must complete the basic eligibility criteria, then appear for the entrance exam, followed by a counselling process.

In order to be eligible for the exam, candidates must have passed their Class 12 with decent scores. Selection of the candidates is based on the NCHMCT JEE score, which determines their eligibility to secure a seat at IHM Hyderabad for the BSc programme. IHM Mumbai and IHM Hyderabad both accept the scores of NCHMT JEE for admissions to BSc courses. Hence, the admission process is almost identical for both institutions, as the first requirement is candidates must complete their higher senior secondary with decent scores, then they must appear for NCHMT JEE, followed by centralised counselling. Therefore, it is hard to determine which institute it is easier to get admission into BSc courses.

The total fee for a BSc course at IHM Chennai is around INR 4.95 lakh. On the other hand, IHM Hyderabad BSc fees is INR 3.3 Lacs for a three-year duration. Hence, IHM Hyderabad is more affordable for BSc courses compared to IHM Chennai. However, to consider which institute is the best option for BSc, fee structure can be one component that candidates can consider, but several other factors can be counted while competing with the IHMs, such as placement package, college recognition, ranking, accreditation, etc.
