But there are also who got 6 LPA and also who did not get placed.

Through CMAT you will get admission into MBA (FT) program where you elect finance specialization in 2nd year whereas if you appear for DAVV CET for admission in MBA (Financial Administration) you study finance subject from the begin of 1st year. So if you really want to for finance I suggest you to appear for DAVV CET and get admission in MBA (FA). CET exam may be conducted in May or June.

Both Institutes are good in their certain aspects. Both have good no. placments opportunities, Good Infrastructure, Extra curriculuar etc. But as I am from IMS I suggest you get admission here itself.
