NEET UG is the accepted entrance exam for BSc admission at IMS BHU. The exam is conducted once every year by the National Testing Agency. The exam dates vary yearly. It is usually conducted in May.

To apply for BSc Nursing at IMS BHU, aspirants are required to apply for the NEET UG entrance exam. It is usually conducted in May. The application process for the same is conducted between February and March every year. In 2025, NTA released the NEET 2025 notification, information bulletin and NEET 2025 application form on February 7, 2025. The last date to submit the filled up application form was March 7, 2025 (11.50 PM).

To be eligible for BSc course at IMS BHU, Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) to be eligible for admission Further, they must also appear for NEET UG, the accepted entrance exam for BSc (Nursing) admission ar IMS BHU. Institute of Medical Sciences BHU UG Diploma admission is granted to applicants who fulfil the preset eligibility criteria. To be eligible for admission, candidates fulfil the following IMS BHU UG Diploma eligibility requiements:
- They must have passed Class 12 with Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, & Biology) and English
- They must have scored at least 50% in Class 12

To be eligible for the MBBS programme at the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) in Banaras Hindu University (BHU), the NEET entrance exam is compulsory. For admission to IMS BHU, the NEET MDS cutoff 2024 was released for the last round. For the SC AI category candidates, the Cutoff was concluded during Round 1, wherein the available course for the category was MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics having the closing cutoff of 654, for the SC AI category candidates. However, the IMS BHU NEET MDS Cutoff for the ST AI category is not known.

BHU owns an Anti-Ragging Squad and Monitoring Cell which runs by certain rules and regulations and exists to look after the adherence of anti-ragging policy on the campus. BHU follows serious measures against ragging and believes in eradicating the ragging culture from the campus 100%. The campus is under constant surveillance and has CCTV coverage of the entire campus as well.
