Institute of Medical Sciences BHU does not offer direct admission. IMS BHU primarily relies on national-level entrance exams like NEET-UG for undergraduate programs (like MBBS and BSc Nursing) and NEET-PG, NEET-SS, and NEET-MDS for postgraduate and super-specialty courses. After qualifying the relevant entrance exam, candidates must participate in the counseling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee. 

Over the past three years, the cut-off ranks required for IMS BHU BDS admission have shown a declining trend. In 2024, the closing rank for the last round of BDS admission was 28,901 for the General AI category candidates. The same was 25,669 in 2023 and 23,284 in 2022. This indicates that getting admission to the BDS course of IMS BHU became comparatively easier over the last three years. The IMS BHU BDS cut-off varies yearly. It further varies depending on the reservation category and admission quota (All-India/Home State) of the applicants.
