Hi Pooja!
Yes there is an entrance exam for National Institute of Design. The institute conducts a Design Aptitude Test (DAT) as an admission criteria, that happens in two phases. This test is followed by a studio test which involves practical questions where you have to showcase your drawing/sketching skills, hands-on model making, group discussions, presentations, etc. You can find all the details of the exam here https://www.shiksha.com/design/communication-design/exams/nid-entrance-exam/pattern
