GIBS Business School's campus life has had a profound effect on my educational growth (academically, personally, and professionally). Constant exposure to industry professionals through guest speakers, projects, presentations, leaders, etc., helped build not only my confidence level but my career focus. The current student population provides exposure to many different backgrounds which opened up my mind to new ways of thinking while helping to develop my ability to work as a team and communicate effectively. The discipline of a structured learning process, my working with a mentor, and the environment of practical learning shifted my mindset from simply study the material required for an exam to preparing for the day-to-day challenges faced in the corporate world. Overall, the campus life experience has made me much more responsible, proactive, and clear in my mind about what I want to accomplish long-term.

Through its combination of skills development, practical sessions, and continuous mentoring, GIBS Business School builds the confidence and professionalism of its students. Students receive communication training, personality development, aptitude programs, and corporate etiquette workshops that prepare them for presentations, body language, and how to behave in the workplace as part of their academic study.

When students participate in group discussions, practice interviews, and deliver presentations on a regular basis, they will develop confidence and have less fear of public speaking. Group activities, clubs, events, and leadership roles expose students to teamwork, decision-making, and being accountable for their actions.

GIBS Business School has designed a training method that focuses on placement and prepares students to be successful in both interviewing and in meeting the expectations of corporations. The training begins with a series of finishing-school modules that include; aptitude training, communication skills, group discussions, and mock interviews, all of which will help students feel confident and prepared for a successful interview experience.

Other forms of support for students in the preparation process include resume-building workshops, personality development sessions, and corporate etiquette training which all help students effectively present themselves to potential employers during the recruitment process. Students also have the opportunity to attend guest lectures, leadership talks, and interact with industry professionals. By interacting with professionals, students gain an understanding of the expectations an employer will have and what behaviour an employee should demonstrate in the workplace.

If you plan to join GIBS, make sure you take advantage of all the opportunities available through the institute outside of academics. GIBS is a very practical learning institution, so you should take part in live projects, internships, industry visits, and guest lectures to gain experience outside of the classroom. Also, participate in clubs and events; this will help you develop leadership skills, teamwork skills, and communication skills — all of which are just as important as what you learn in the classroom.

In addition, be sure to start preparing for placement from day one. Work on building your aptitude, communication, and presentation skills and develop an impressive resume through completion of certifications and projects. Stay consistent in your efforts, be open to constructive criticism from mentors/faculty, and take advantage of the networking opportunities that come your way through contacts with people in the industry.

Students who are actively involved in campus life, participate in extracurricular activities and focus on developing their skills will typically achieve the best results from their time at GIBS.

Campus General Size and Distribution of Space:

Campus Size 

The total approximate area of GIB'S new campus varies from approximately 5 – 10 acres, based upon the phase and source.

A significant portion of student dialogue mentions that the main academic setup will be approximately 5 acres.

Academics Area 

Academics will encompass the largest area of the new campus and will be located primarily in the central portion of the new campus, making it easily accessible to students.

Hostel/Home 

Home/Hostel blocks will be separately designated for boys and girls and will include common areas, and study/lounge areas for hostel residents.

Sports Facilities/Retail Soccer 

Soccer will be available on the playing field; as will be other outdoor sports.

Table Tennis (Indoor) and Other Types of Indoor Sports 

The new campus will also provide an area for Table Tennis (Indoor) as well as other types of indoor sports, in addition to the playing fields.

Green Spaces/Open Space 

• Landscaped park areas, walking paths and seating areas.

The new campus will include cafeteria space, student lounge space, and club activity space. In addition, an area that can be used for putting on cultural events and informal get-togethers will be included.
