The process of getting into JCE is not always the same for everyone. In order to apply for popular CSE branches through KCET or COMEDK UGET for B.E./B.Tech, you should aim for a rank below KCET CSE's closing rank which is around 39,830. There are new cutoffs every year. Applying for admission under Management Quota is easier, but it is more expensive. Just as with other branches, students get into PG courses after taking exams such as Karnataka PGCET. Basically, non-fraternity schools don't require top academic scores, but you still need good results in the required entrance exams.

Students who fit the criteria are eligible to receive 100% scholarships from JCE. Mostly, these scholarships go to students who got excellent grades in Class 12 (for example, 90% or higher) or in JEE Main. Another option is need-based scholarships for economically weaker people, as long as their families earn less than a certain limit each year. Also, JCE distributes scholarships for children of sports figures, defence workers and students from various government schemes.
