JEE Advanced counselling is called JoSAA. JoSAA 2026 will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. JoSAA 2026 counselling will start in June 2026.

There will be 6 rounds of seat allotment. Candidates who are allotted seats in each round of JoSAA 2026 Counselling will be required to choose the options from Freeze, Float or Slide. Candidates who opt Freeze option will be required to complete the reporting process by the prescribed deadline. JoSSA is the counselling body of JEE Main and JEE Advanced so in same preference list you can apply for both NITs and IITs and depending on your preference and rank and seat availability best one will be allotted to you.

JEE Advance examination conducted once in a year and rank in that examination consider for admission. I think you are asking about consecutive two attempts given by a candidate in advance examination and about best of them, so I want to clear you that your rank of each year will consider only in that year for taking admission in college, it will not count in next attempt or year.

The NIRF ranking of NIT Raipur for engineering is 63. While 15 is for SVNIT Surat. So SVNIT Surat is the best for pursuing B.Tech Electrical course.

The reservation of seats through JEE Main is also based upon State of Eligibility (from where the candidate has appeared for the qualifying exam). JEE Main 2020 Category-wise Reservation. Categories JEE Main Reservation Percentage
