Yes, every candidate who appeared for JEE main and has been allotted AIR is eligible for JOSAA counselling, but the seats are allotted on the basis of merit. You can fill in your choices for the spot round.

Dropping an year won't be beneficial for you as you don't qualify the 75% criteria for JEE, so I suggest you should join some good college this year only

Candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics in 12th.
They must have studied either of optional subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Bio-Tech.
They must have scored at least 50% in all subjects.

Hi Sahil,
Yes, according to the latest notification by CBSE , student needs to have minimum 75% in class 12th or he/she needs to be in the top 20 percentile of there respective boards to appear for JEE Mains 2017 and from 2017 no 40% weightage will be given to 12th marks in calculating the final JEE score.
