JISCE Kolkata MBA admission is subject to the fulfillment of the preset eligibility and selection criteria. Candidates who have acompleted their Bachelor's degree of at least three years are eligible to apply for admission. The final selection is based on the following three parameters:
- Candidates' MAT/JEMAT/AMPAI-WB scores/ranks (CAT/XAT may also be accepted)
- Candidates' performance in Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the college
- Candidates' past academic records and work experience, if any

The basic eligibility required for the JISCE M.Tech programme is to pass BTech degree in the relevant field from a recognised university. Furthermore, students must provide a valid score of the entrance exams (GATE/ CEE AMPAI Masters/ WBUT PGET). The eligibility criteria for BTech at JIS College of Engineering are as follows:
1- Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
2- Candidates must secure a minimum of 45% marks in 10+2 in PCM.
