A very good college for students with good placements, good teachers, and good facilities.
Placements: Nearly 60% get placed. The highest package is 14 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. Companies like Oil India, NRL, Vedanta, IOCL, and many more visit. There are 100 internships available, such as BARC, Oil, IOCL, ISRO, Flipkart, NRL, ONGC, executive roles, and many more. If you are among the top 10 students, you will get good placements.
Infrastructure: Best classrooms with smart boards and good Wi-Fi, along with hostels that have Wi-Fi and single rooms. The games facilities are good. Food and medical facilities are available. Classrooms are clean, with projectors in every room. The canteen offers good facilities, serving clean and hygienic food with proper seating arrangements for students.
Faculty: Top professors across India with the highest qualifications, like M.Tech, Ph.D. Very good learning with proper teaching materials and proper notes. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready and ready to start anywhere. It is an NBA 2-tier rated college.
Other: Good placements, nothing like the biggest technical event in the Northeast, Pyrokinesis.

Overall, it is a moderate college. I would rate 7/10.
Placements: The placement scenario is quite good. From our branch, about 60% of students get placed, and the lowest is around 2.5 LPA to 3 LPA, and the highest goes up to 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies are PSUs, LNC Vedanta, and Tata Motors. Mostly 100% of the students get internships in most of the IITs and PSUs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course is good. They are quite organized to some extent. Wi-Fi facilities are also present in the hostel. The hostel food is also good, only lunch and dinner are provided. The canteen is also good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is quite good. They take the classes properly. They teach easily and give us notes. They do make the students industry-ready to some extent. Semester exams are average. Teachers are good. They are friendly and they are available outside the classroom.

Good college and friendly professors.
Placements: In my course, 10% of student are placed because there are not many companies hiring civil engineers, so placements in civil engineering are very poor. The highest package in my college is 15.2 LPA and the lowest is 3.5 LPA and average is 6.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies in my college include APL. About 30% of student got internships from my course, with companies like NPTEL.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi connection in our college and the Wi-Fi is fast. Labs are available and the classrooms are clean, with tables and benches. Projectors are also available, and there is a library. Classroom are big, accommodating 100 students easily.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, Ph.D. graduates and so smart and they have so much experience in teaching and are highly knowledgeable. The curriculum relevant. Our course includes field visit every year. The semester exam are very difficult in our college. The pass percentage in my course is 70%.
Other: It is a good course so I chose this.

It's a government college and is quite good, placement scenario is good.
Placements: In our college, a lot of companies come, both private companies and PSUs. The CTCs given are quite good, ranging from 3 LPA to 12 LPA. Almost 50-60% of students got placed in our branch. Some top recruiting companies are Oil India, Vedanta, TVS, L& T, Ashok Leyland, and many more.
Infrastructure: Our course has a lot of facilities. This is the most strict branch in our college. The equipment is also good, but some of them are not working. About the hostel facilities, I am not a hostel student, but according to my knowledge, it is average.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They provide us with notes. They give us good class lectures. They explain how to use PPTs and they also help us during our examinations. Sometimes, they take extra classes to teach us. They are also available outside the classroom. Semester exams for some subjects are sometimes hard and mostly others are average. Our professors are very qualified and very friendly.

Inside Assam Engineering College.
Placements: From the seventh semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Over 50 reputed companies like Bajaj, LG, L&T Construction, Gammon, Tata, NRL, and ONGC visit the college each year, offering various job opportunities. The highest package this year was 24 LPA in Chemical Engineering, while the average package ranges from 10 to 12 LPA. More than 60% of students get placed through campus recruitment. Besides placements, many students secure internships with well-known companies, gaining valuable experience. Some students have also started their startups, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit nurtured at the college.
Infrastructure: The labs at the college are above average, meeting basic requirements but lacking advanced equipment. Some areas have free Wi-Fi, which is helpful for students. The library is quite good, with a wide variety of books available. Hostel rooms are comfortable, mostly double-sharing, and the bathrooms and toilets are clean. The mess offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, including chicken and fish, though the taste could be improved. The canteen serves good food and has a large dining area. During college week, almost all sports events take place on campus, encouraging active participation.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is above average, allowing fairly decent interaction between students and teachers. Most faculty members are calm, and approachable, and maintain a positive relationship with students. Their teaching is student-focused and easy to understand. The examinations, set by ASTU, are moderately difficult. While some students struggle to pass, many perform well. The course curriculum is mostly relevant, although a few conventional subjects are still included and could be updated to better match current industry needs.

Assam Engineering College review as of 2024.
Placements: Among seniors, half of the students were placed. The highest package was 20 LPA and average was 4 LPA. Tata, Vedantu and ONGC are the top recruiters. 70 percent students got internships in railway NTP and IOCL Sales manager is the top role offered. Many of the other companies also visit the campus to recruit mechanical students.
Infrastructure: Free Wi-Fi, a library and classrooms are pretty decent. The quality of the hostel is average. We have to stay in a group of three in a meeting. We are given typical Assamese dishes: breakfast bread, jam and butter, lunch dal rice, dinner, sometimes fish curry sometimes egg curry and sometimes chicken .
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified Ph.D. scholars from IITs. Yes, it is relevant in mechanical; they make us industry-ready. Semester exams are pretty average; if you do your homework on day one, it will feel easy. Many of the students get this course hard because they don't follow the basic steps given by teacher but if we listen to them, we will feel easy.
Other: I chose this course because I liked mechanical engineering from the start. I wish to improve the old-fashioned syllabus into something new and AI-based too. Pyrokinesis is the annual fest of our college; it is a big event where not only Assam celebs come but Bollywood too. The campus is surrounded by nature in the mountains. Scholarships: we get different scholarships for ST and SC general depending on the caste. ECA also hosts intra-hospital cricket and football tournaments.
