JNTUH - Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad

At Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) in Hyderabad, one needs to fulfill one of the following requirements in order to be eligible for a free seat: 

1) Category for the SC/ST: The annual income of your parents shall not exceed 2.5 lakhs.

2) Rank: A rank of less than 10,000 is required.

3) General category: You have to fall between 100 and 110.

4) Reserved category: 500 is the minimum rank required.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad is a public university. The Andhra Pradesh State Legislature's Act No. 16 founded JNTUH on October 1972, making it the nation's first technological university. In 2017, NAAC reaccredited Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad with an "A" grade. 

Yes, it is one of the top universities for BTech. The university recorded 549 UG (4-year) students getting placed out of 1,072 students as per the NIRF report 2022. Admission to UG, PG and PhD courses in JNTUH is conducted through written entrance examinations followed by PI/Counselling. Aspirants seeking admission must apply on the accepted national-level exam application portals. For PhD or courses in which admission is merit-based, students are required to apply on the JNTUH website (jntuh.ac.in).

To have M.Tech admission to the courses offered at JNTUH, candidates need to visit the official website of respective conducting bodies of national-level entrance exams-TS PGECET, or GATE, and fill the application form in online mode.

Government of Telangana provides financial assistance to economically underprivileged students.

• BTech first-year students receive a tuition fee of INR 10,000 and a special fee of INR 4,500 and II, III and IV year students receive a tuition fee of INR 10,000 and a special fee of INR 2,500 every academic year. In addition, all scholarship students receive a mess fee of INR 1,500 per nine months only.
• MTech regular students receive a tuition fee of INR 30,000 and self-financed students receive a tuition fee of INR 50,000 every academic year.

JNT University Hyderabad (JNTUH) offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses such as BTech, BPharmacy, MTech, MPharmacy, MCA, MBA, PharmaD and PhD under various disciplines.  Admission to these courses are based on Entrance exam score. BTech is the popular programme of JNTUH. BTech admission requires to have valid score in EAMCET.

Master’s degree in any branch of Engineering /Technology from a recognised university with at least 60% aggregate is the eligibility criteria for PhD in JNTUH.  

The flagship course of JNTUH is BTech. Admission to BTech is based on scores in TS EAMCET along with class 12 aggregates.
