JoSAA Counselling

Candidates must lock their choices in JoSAA counselling after finalising them within the designated timeframe. The process of locking involves several steps after clicking the “Lock Choice” button, including agreeing to the terms, re-entering the password, and confirming the lock. Candidates should follow all steps carefully to complete the locking procedure.

Once choices are locked, they cannot be unlocked or modified. After locking, the system will automatically redirect candidates to their Home page. If candidates do not explicitly lock their choices by the deadline, their last saved choices will be automatically locked by the system.

Note: 'Saving' a choice is different from 'Locking' a choice. A saved choice can still be modified later, but once a choice is locked, it cannot be changed or saved again. Any modifications to a saved choice require re-saving, and the previous choice will be replaced. Locked choices are final and cannot be altered.

If there are issues with your JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) documents, several problems may arise:

• Verification Issues: Your documents may require verification for authenticity and eligibility. Discrepancies could lead to delays or denial of your admission.
• Eligibility Concerns: If your documents do not meet the eligibility criteria, you may be disqualified from the seat allocation process.
• Communication Delays: JoSAA authorities may contact you for clarification, which could slow down your admission process.
• Loss of Seat Allocation: In extreme cases, unresolved issues could result in the cancellation of your allocated seat, requiring you to go through the process again in future rounds.

In case there are issues with the douments, JoSAA will send you communication under the JoSAA portal, candidates must address these communication as soon as possible and rectify whatever issue is raised with the documents.
