JEE Advanced is the national-level exam which is widely conducted by IITs to admit students for the BTech and BTech Integrated courses. To get into IIT Bhubaneswar through JoSAA counselling, It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates should apply for JoSAA counselling only if they fulfill all the conditions of eligibility. However, many institutes admit students on the basis of JEE Main where there is no requirement of minimum marks in class 12.

Candidates must lock their choices in JoSAA counselling after finalising them within the designated timeframe. The process of locking involves several steps after clicking the “Lock Choice” button, including agreeing to the terms, re-entering the password, and confirming the lock. Candidates should follow all steps carefully to complete the locking procedure.

Once choices are locked, they cannot be unlocked or modified. After locking, the system will automatically redirect candidates to their Home page. If candidates do not explicitly lock their choices by the deadline, their last saved choices will be automatically locked by t

If there are issues with your JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) documents, several problems may arise:

  • Verification Issues: Your documents may require verification for authenticity and eligibility. Discrepancies could lead to delays or denial of your admission.
  • Eligibility Concerns: If your documents do not meet the eligibility criteria, you may be disqualified from the seat allocation process.

You can update your nationality in the JoSAA portal from foreign national to Indian. Once the nationality status is changed, you will be eligible for seats in IITs under the GEN category only. If you have already been allocated a seat, it will be cancelled, and you will be considered for seat allocation in subsequent rounds (if any) under the OPEN category, provided you -

  1. submit proof of Indian nationality, and
  2. meet all other eligibility criteria for Indian nationals, including satisfying the JEE (Main) cut-off marks for qualifying for JEE (Advanced) in the GEN category.

You can update your nationality in the JoSAA portal from Indian to OCI/PIO card holder. After making this change, you will be eligible for seats in IITs under the GEN or GEN-PwD category only. If your currently allocated seat is not under the OPEN or OPEN-PwD category, it will be CANCELLED. You will then be considered for seat allocation in subsequent rounds (if any) under the OPEN category, provided you -

  1. submit proof of a valid OCI/PIO card (issued before 04.03.2021).
  2. meet all other eligibility criteria for qualifying for JEE (Advanced) in the GEN or GEN-PwD category.
