Yes, they are same, just the difference is that, earlier when it came under Bangalore University it was known as Garden City College (GCC) and later GCC registered with UGC and became Deemed University (self-regulatory institution) in the month of February, 2016 to Garden City University (GCU), when it also celebrated it's 25th anniversary.

Hello Aishwarya,
To get admission for MBA in a college, invariably the states do not prescribe any form of domicile requirement but what is required is to clear the entrance exam, if any, that is conducted by the college. Many colleges accept the score in XAT/MAT/SNAP or any other national level entrance test conducted by reputed Institutions for admission to MBA. Invariably again one must score minimum 50% in the graduation to be eligible for admission to MBA course.
