No, for regular B.Tech admission in KIET, eligibility is generally based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Computer Science usually cannot replace Chemistry for PCM percentage calculation.
However, Computer Science marks may be considered in some cases for Diploma students applying through lateral entry admission.

Yes, KIET's new “Deemed-to-be University” status makes its degree fully valid and recognised across India. The institution has NAAC A+ accreditation, NBA accreditation for all eligible programs, and is consistently ranked in NIRF (151–200 band for Engineering), so its degree carries strong academic and professional credibility.
What Changed at KIET
- Earlier Status: Affiliated to AKTU (Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University).
- Now: Granted Deemed-to-be University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 in November 2025.
- Autonomy: KIET now designs its own curriculum, conducts exams, and awards degrees independently.
