Kwantlen Polytechnic University

The programme permits students to receive a bachelor's degree that will prepare them for employment in the Canadian IT industry or graduate school. Students can pursue the programme as a general degree or specialise in Network Administration and Security or Mobile and Web Application Development. Graduates of the programme may find work as system administrators, systems analysts, networking specialists, or software developers. Computer network administration and security, as well as mobile and web application development specialisations, give concentrated, in-depth instruction in critical IT areas. For the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, course offerings during the day and evenings give optimum flexibility for student schedules. With the wide range of career opportunities in various fields such as:

• Enterprise network system administration

• Information system security

• Web design, development and integration

• Mobile software application development

• Software analysis design and development

The acceptance rate for KPU is 60% which makes it moderately selective. The admissions are not highly selective here. This means out of 100 applicants 60 students have the chance to get admission. Although, the university assesses the applications individually. The university is moderately selective of its students. If students meet all the minimum criteria for admission, the university offers them seats. International students are required to meet the English proficiency language to get into the university. The undergraduate students are required to have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 to get admission to an undergraduate program. However, graduate students are required to meet the English requirements set by the university. All the applications are accepted based on merit and academic excellence. If students have good academic scores, their chances of getting into university increase.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has five campuses. The Kwantlen Polytechnic University does not offer any on-campus student residences. However, students can find several great housing options in Metro Vancouver. It includes homestay and student accommodations. Students can choose to stay in independent studios or apartments based on their requirements.

Most students reside in CASA Toronto/Vancouver, Cypress Accommodations, and GEC Living. The accommodation rates are as follows:

Students can also find rentals for flexibility and independence. International students are advised to stay at a homestay, student residence, or short-term accommodations, such as hotels or Airbnb, for the first month. Later, they can switch to rentals as good rentals are not easy to find. Students can look for rental spaces on Craigslist, Kijiji, or Facebook Marketplace.

The average cost of living per semester in Canada is CAD 7,300 per student. It might increase or decrease as per the living standards of a student.
