BA LLB generally has higher competition for admissions as it is offered by top NLUs, private law colleges and prestigious central/state universities, with entrance exams such as AILET, CLAT, and SLAT, having low acceptance rates.

On the other hand, LLB (3 year course) is mainly available at all the top law universities, which makes the competition even more than BA LLB.

First, you need to complete 10+2 from a recognised board, preferably from the Arts stream,  because subjects taught in the Arts, such as Political Science and History,  can help you to build a strong foundation.

Moreover, you can pursue your graduation from the same field, like BA or BA specializations in relatable subjects.

There is no government law college with a NIRF rank of 30 that gives a regular 15 LPA placement.

NLU Odisha is ranked 30 but doesn't offer that high a package.

Some top government colleges like NLU Jodhpur and NLIU Bhopal have better placements, and in some cases, students may get up to 15 LPA.

It is ranked around 31 and has some students getting offers up to 14 Lacs per year, mostly in top law firms.

However, average placements are usually lower.

You can no longer add legal studies, as the CUET 2025 improvement window is closed on 28 March. In addition, legal studies are not a valid domain theme for law courses this year. Candidates will have to select general qualification instead. No further changes are allowed. You can contact NTA for any official explanation.
