The number of students getting placements in TNNLU is relatively low,30 percent of students are placed every year.

Students are getting placed in reputed Tier-1 firms such as Trilegal, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Lakshmi Kumaran & Sridharan, etc. Alumni of the TNNLU are working as professors, judicial clerks, advocates of the Supreme Court as well as High Courts, and legal officers in banks and many students opt for higher education from Indian and foreign institutes. The university has a specific Internship and Placement Cell that works for providing a wide of opportunities to students. 

Banaras Hindu University's (BHU) Faculty of Law has a strong placement history. In 2022, BHU Law graduates might expect to receive a median compensation package of INR 8.5 LPA. This is a substantial increase over the INR 5 LPA average income package for law graduates in India.
