Q:   Can I get admission to NUSRL for BA LLB with 60% in Class 12th?

A:

As you aspire to secure admission to the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) Ranchi for the BA LLB (Hons) program, it's crucial to understand the eligibility criteria and ensure alignment with your academic qualifications.

NUSRL sets specific eligibility standards for BA LLB admissions. For the BA LLB (Hons) program, you are required to have a minimum of 45% marks in the Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or an equivalent examination. It's essential to note that SC/ST category students have a relaxed criterion, requiring 40% marks for eligibility.

If you have attained a commendable 60% in your Class 12th examinations, you comfortably exceed the minimum requirement set by NUSRL for BA LLB admissions. Your academic performance positions you well within the eligibility criteria, enhancing your chances of securing admission to this esteemed institution.

Furthermore, it's important to acknowledge the Bar Council of India Rules, which stipulate a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying exam as a prerequisite for eligibility for a 5/3 year LLB degree programme in India. With your 60% in Class 12th, you not only meet but surpass this regulatory benchmark, underscoring your strong academic foundation for pursuing legal studies.

As you navigate the admissions process, your academic achievements provide a solid foundation, and you can approach the application with confidence, knowing that you fulfill the eligibility criteria for BA LLB at NUSRL Ranchi.

Q:   Is NUSRL as good as Nalsar University of Law?

A:

As you contemplate the choice between the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) and Nalsar University of Law, it's essential to weigh the strengths and considerations of each institution to make an informed decision aligning with your academic and professional goals.

Nalsar University of Law stands as a prestigious institution known for its excellence in legal education. Renowned for its brilliant faculty, it is highly recommended, especially for those aspiring to pursue an LLM degree. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2023 acknowledged NLSIU, NLU Delhi, and NALSAR among the top law schools in India, reaffirming Nalsar's status as a leading legal education provider.

On the other hand, NUSRL Ranchi offers a comprehensive and balanced curriculum, including a compulsory mooting program. While the college provides good facilities, some perspectives suggest that it may not fully meet the expectations associated with a National Law University (NLU).

In terms of placements, NUSRL witnesses approximately 30% of eligible students securing positions in the corporate sector. The salary offered ranges between Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 60,000 per month. While this demonstrates a decent placement record, it's imperative to consider your career aspirations and how these align with the placement outcomes of each institution.

Your decision may hinge on factors such as faculty expertise, curriculum structure, campus facilities, and the reputation of each university in the legal landscape. It's advisable to carefully evaluate the specific aspects that matter most to you in your legal education journey, ensuring that your chosen institution aligns with your expectations and future career objectives. By considering these elements thoughtfully, you can make a decision that resonates with your unique aspirations and sets the foundation for a successful legal career.

Hello there,

The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) and the Nalsar University of Law are two famous law schools in India, each with their own set of qualities. However, NUSRL has gradually improved its placement opportunities, with some students securing Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) from top law firms. The university's location in Ranchi offers a favorable cost of living and beautiful weather, compensating for some facilities restrictions characteristic of a state capital.

The university's established reputation and alumni network enhance its market worth and industry perception .

In summary, while NUSRL is working to improve its placements and facilities, Nalsar University of Law currently has a competitive advantage in terms of alumni relationships, market value, and general industry perception. When deciding between two universities to pursue their legal education, students should examine these elements, as well as their personal preferences.

Q:   Is CLAT required for BA LLB at NUSRL?

A:

As you embark on the journey to pursue a BA LLB Hons or LLM at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) Ranchi, it's imperative to understand the pivotal role that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) plays in the admission process.

To secure admission to NUSRL for BA LLB Hons or LLM, candidates are required to appear for the CLAT, a standardized entrance examination widely recognised for assessing aptitude and suitability for legal studies. CLAT serves as the primary gateway for admission to LLB courses across various participating law institutes, including NUSRL Ranchi.

Following the CLAT examination, participating institutes, including NUSRL Ranchi, release CLAT cutoff ranks. Candidates who successfully meet the specified cutoff are then eligible to participate in the subsequent online counseling process. During counseling, candidates are provided with the opportunity to select NUSRL Ranchi as their preferred choice, and the selection is based on their CLAT scores.

While CLAT is the most commonly accepted entrance exam for LLB courses, it's worth noting that it is not the only option available. Other entrance exams, such as SLAT, AILET, JMI BA LLB, and LSAT, are also recognised by various universities for admission to LLB programs. Additionally, some universities may conduct their own entrance exams for LLB admissions.

By actively preparing for and participating in the CLAT examination, you position yourself strategically for admission to NUSRL Ranchi, ensuring alignment with the institute's admission requirements and enhancing your prospects for a successful legal education journey.

Q:   How do students get selected for BA LLB at NUSRL and what is the minimum score required?

A:

The eligibility criteria for admission require candidates to have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with a commendable minimum of 45% aggregate marks. This academic benchmark sets the foundation for the selection process, ensuring a certain standard for prospective students.

Applicants seeking admission to NUSRL Ranchi's B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme must actively participate in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). CLAT serves as the gateway examination for admission to both B.A. LL.B. Hons. and L.L.M. programs across participating law institutes. Following the CLAT examination, participating institutes, including NUSRL Ranchi, release CLAT cutoff ranks.

The 2024 general category cutoff rank for BA LLB at NUSRL is 31402, while the OBC cutoff for UG students stands at 2518. Meeting the specified cutoff marks becomes crucial for advancing in the admission process.

Subsequently, candidates who have successfully met the cutoff are required to participate in online counseling. During this counseling process, candidates must submit all their educational certificates for thorough document verification. Failing to submit the required documents may lead to disqualification from the counseling process.

Upon successful document verification, the Consortium conducting CLAT provides admission based on the candidate's score and overall performance in the selection process. By navigating through these steps diligently, you position yourself for a competitive edge in securing admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme at NUSRL Ranchi.
