To be eligible for the LL.M. programme at Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), candidates must have completed an LL.B. degree or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks from any recognised institute or university. Additionally, Himachal Pradesh University mentions that the basic requirement for seeking admission to the LL.M. programme is an LL.M. degree with 55% marks. Therefore, the eligibility criteria for the LL.M. programme at HPNLU includes completing an LL.B. degree with at least 50% marks and an LL.M. degree with 55% marks.

Below are the DU attendance rules for LLM programme:
- Students should have attended a minimum of two-thirds of the total number of lectures delivered in the term in which he/ she has been admitted as a regular student; and
- He/ she should have submitted the research paper for class discussion in each course and the teacher teaching the course is satisfied with the paper and presentation in the class
- All students must submit a printed copy of their class presentation with Anti-Plagiarism Certificate before the end of the semester in the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Law, DU

Yes, each student of LLM programme shall submit a dissertation carrying 200 marks as prescribed. The students shall submit the title with synopsis for dissertation for approval in the 5th semester on the specific data.
The supervisors shall be appointed by the specified data after successful defence of the synopsis by the candidate through an interview before the panel appointed by the LLM Committee.

Once selected, candidates are called for counselling. Candidates need to bring below documents for DU LLM Counselling and verification:
- Admission Ticket LLM Entrance Test
- Age Certificate (High School/ Matriculation)
- Character Certificate (not older than six months on the date of admission)
- Degree Certificate (Provisional Certificate if applicable) of qualifying degree examination
- Marksheet of the qualifying degree examination
- Scheduled Caste/Tribe/EWS & OBC non-creamy layer) /PwD/CW certificate. Non-creamy layer certificate must be of the current financial year or as directed by the Admission Committee of the University of Delhi
