In addition to the basic eligibility requirements, some universities may also have specific requirements for their MA in Mass Communication and Media programs. To be eligible for admission to MA programs at Jadavpur University, applicants must meet the following common criteria:

  • Have completed a 3-year Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university
  • Obtain at least 50% marks (45% for PD/OBC-A/OBC-B category and 40% for SC/ST category) in Honours/Major papers
  • In case Honours/Major is not specified/mentioned in the mark-sheet, the applicant is not eligible
  • For candidates under SC/ST category from states other than West Bengal, they must produce a domicile certificate for residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years issued by the competent authority

At Akal University, to get into their M.A. program, you usually need to have scored at least 60% in your graduation or equivalent exams. But they're considerate about different circumstances. So, if you're from the SC/ST community or have a disability, you can still apply if you have 55% or above.

Aspirants need to secure a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent to apply for MA. Students who are in their final year of their bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply.
