In order to pursue MSc (Biotechnology), candidates should be a Science graduate with a minimum of 50% of marks, from a recognised University (45% in case of SC/ST). Candidates appearing in final examination of B.Sc. (Biology/Life Sciences/ BVSc & AH/ MBBS/ B.Pharm/ Mathematics and related subjects) degree are also eligible for admission and can appear in the Entrance Test.

Mysore University MSc Biotechnology is a two-year course spread across four semesters. The curriculum is based on Choice-Based Credit System. The curriculum include core papers, soft core and open elective paper with credit for each.
