M.Sc Eligibility

Hello!
My brother has done M.Sc. (Food Science and Technology) from Lovely Professional University, I am not so aware about other universities. This course at LPU helps in Brewing the students by provoking the doing by yourself approach. The learner has to do a unique three term thesis keeping in mind the research centricity, for which the programme has been chosen. Eligibility of this course is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Bachelors of Science Degree (Medical Science and Allied Medical or Applied Medical Science or Agriculture or Nanotechnology or Biosciences or Life Sciences or Food Sciences or Nutrition and Dietetics or Home Science
Few of major features of this course at LPU are :
1.The curriculum of this course lays strong emphasis on in-depth knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of food technology.
2.Dissertation courses split in 3 different semesters are incorporated in the curriculum to provide research and hands on experience to students in problem identification, laboratory work, data analysis and interpretation.
3.Seminar based course develop presentation and technical skills in students.
4.In addition to core curricula, course offers subjects like analytical and soft skills to enhance personality and employbility.
5.In addition to core curricula, course offers subjects like communication, analytical and soft skills to enhance personality and employability.
6.Participation in technical events, conferences, workshops, sports and cultural activities help in the holistic development of students
7.Regular interactive sessions with academicians and industry personnel to update knowledge on latest technologies and emerging trends is an important aspect of the curriculum.
8.Visits to food industries are conducted to give clarity on emerging trends in the area of food technology
9.In LPU the Academic tasks such Class Participation, Design Problem, Term Paper, Assignment, Live examples, AV-aids. Test and Quiz based on various competitive examinations. Case studies on Current research scenario.
10.LPU students undertake Research projects in collaboration with national laboratories of India (NIPGR, New Delhi; CPRI, Shimla; NRCE, Hisar; IIWBR, Karnal; NIEBE, Kapurthala), Live projects for undergraduate students.
