Regarding the word limit for you SOP for MS in Computer Science in the UK, check the specific program's requirements. Some university give the expected word limit and formatting details. If there is no set word limit, it is wise to keep your SOP brief, usually between 500 and 1000 words. The primary objective of the SOP for MS Computer Science in the UK is to show your enthusiasm for the subject, academic readiness, and long-term objectives in relation to the programme.

An SOP for MS in CS in UK must be drafted with close attention to detail and written with the Ad Com's expectations in mind. The following points will help you create a successful SOP:

  • Be original and do not copy someone else's SOP.
  • Connect all events with logic and reason; avoid randomness.
  • Prepare a structure before you start writing your SOP. It will help you create a seamless flow in your content.
  • Avoid using informal language and slang.
  • Spend some time going through and revising your SOP several times; have someone else re-read it to catch any grammatical or spelling mistakes.

The intent of SOP for MBA vs MS is very different. An MS SOP is created with the intent to present you as a valuable addition to the program. Hence, it emphasizes on your technical background, educational qualifications, and professional experience. On the other hand, the SOP for an MBA programme should highlight their managerial aptitude, leadership experience, and aspirations, since the applicant should emerge as a good prospective leader. The MBA SOP would also be less technical in nature and be more oriented towards your management aptitude.

IHM Chennai and IHM Chandigarh both accept the scores of NCHMT MSc JEE for admissions to MSc courses. Hence, the admission process is almost similar for both institutions, as the first requirement is that candidates must complete their graduation with an aggregate of 55%; then they must appear for the NCHMT MSc JEE, followed by counselling. Therefore, it is hard to determine which institute is easier to get admission into MSc courses.

However, applicants can compare the two institutes by their cutoffs from here: IHM Chandigarh cutoff and IHM Chennai cutoff.
