The eligibility criteria for MTech course at IIT Dhanbad is Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent or a Master's degree in Science/Arts/Commerce with at least 60% aggregate or CGPA/CPI of 6.0 in 10 point scale (55% aggregate or 5.5 CGPA for SC/ST). Also, candidates need to clear the entrance exam for IIT Dhanbad MTech admissions. The entrance exams accepted is GATE.

NIT Puducherry M.Tech admission is done basis the GATE score followed by CCMT Counselling. It is a two-year full-time programme that is divided into four semesters

To get admission to a two-year M.Tech course at MIT AOE, the minimum eligibility criteria is to pass a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant stream of Engineering and Technology with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Admission to this course is entirely entrance-based. Candidates are selected based on their valid scores obtained in GATE entrance exam.

The eligibility criteria of IIIT Bhubaneswar for M.Tech is as mentioned below:
For GATE:
- Graduate Degree in BE/BTech, BPharma, BArch, BSc (Research)/BS, Professional Society Examination (equivalent to BE/BTech/BArch), MSc/MA/MCA or equivalent, Integrated ME/MTech, Integrated MSc/Integrated BS-MS, Integrated ME/MTech or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2)
For Non-GATE:
- Graduate degree in BTech/B.E. from any recognised University with specialisation in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology/ Computer Engineering or any Equivalence specialisation.

To be able to pursue MTech from K J Somaiya College of Engineering, a student should have passed graduation with a minimum 50 percent aggregate. GATE, PERA CET, MHT CET, CUET-PG, etc., are some of the entrance exams accepted by the university. MTech runs for two years, and the fee for the same is INR 1 Lakh.

The eligibility criteria for M.Tech admissions at NIT Sikkim is that candidates should have passed graduation with a minimum of 60% aggregate. The duration of the course is for two years. The fee for the M.Tech course is INR 1.4 lakh. The entrance exams accepted include GATE and CCMT.

Candidates applying for MTech shall have a BE/BTech degree in the relevant specialisation. Further, the university shortlists students based on the score secured in the ICAR AIEEA exam. Hence, aspirants must a valid score of the accepted entrance test to become eligible for admission. Further, based on seat intake and students' exam scores, the seat allotment is carried out.

As per the AKTU norms, for admission to MTech, aspirants are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements before applying for this course. Candidates must hold a B.E./ BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Computer Science engineering or equivalent with minimmum 60% aggregate (55% is required for reserved category candidates).
