There is a mandatory dissertation work or project component in the final semester of the MTech curriculum, where you need to choose a particular topic and submit a detailed research work on the same, which is important to test your analytical aptitude and how you put your academic learning and lab experience to solve a real-world challenge. MTech entrance exams are usually considered challenging and need you to have thorough preparation to get excellent scores and rank to get a seat at a top college and kickstart your MTech academic ride. You can check some important tips to do well in the entrance tests given here:
- Start with your preparation as early as possible instead of waiting for the last leg. You should have at least 8 to 10 months' time to prepare for the entrance exam.

Well, yes. There are university-level exams conducted every year for admission to MTech courses like SRMJEEE (PG) for admission to SRM Institute of Science and Technology, VITMEE for admission to Vellore Institute of Technology, BITS HD for getting a seat at BITS Pilani, IPU CET for GGSIPU admission, and CUCET for Chandigarh University.
