Macquarie University ranks at #201-300 in 2024 in Shanghai rankings. It was placed at the same position in 2023 too. A few of the parameters that are considered for MQU are quality of education, quality of faculty, research output, and per capita performance.

Macquarie University ranks at #192 in 2024-25 in the Global Universities category by U.S. News & World Report. This university was placed in the same position last year too. A few of the factors on which the universities are evaluated are Global Research Reputation, Publications, Normalized Citation Impact, Regional Research Reputation, etc.

According to QS World University Rankings, Macquarie University ranks at #133 in 2025. This university ranked better in 2024 with a rank of #130. The university's ranking declined in the QS rankings, but it has still managed to rank among the Top 200 Universities Worldwide. This ranking of this university also suggests that MQU has maintained its position within the Top 10 Universities in Australia. In the previous year's ranking, this university was placed at #180.
