Admissions to D. Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur for the MBBS program are entrance-based. The selection criteria are merit-based on the basis of NEET UG scores. The MBBS seats are filled through common counseling conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for deemed universities. If after DGHS counselling the seats are still unfilled, they will be divided into institutional and merit seats. The students must have to score minimum required marks mentioned in the cut off list of the college that vary every year and depends on various factors.

As it is an MBBS college it does not provide you with placement opportunities like engineering colleges. It provides you with a 1 year stipend based internship in their own hospital after that if they find you perfect, they can hire you. The average package offered to these college students is around 8 LPA. (approx.) The highest packages goes upto 10-12 lakh per annum.
