For B.Tech (Lateral), candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks for Backward class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only), Alternatively for B.Tech (Lateral), candidates with B.Sc. From a recognised university as defined by UGC and obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks for Backward class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject, are also eligible. Students appearing for 10+2 or Engineering Diploma are also eligible. Maharashtra State candidates must have to appear for MHT CET. All India candidates need to appear for MHT-CET/JEE Mains. Admission is through counseling conducted by DTE Maharashtra based on marks obtained in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) or rank obtained in JEE-Mains. For international students admission is through counseling conducted by DTE Maharashtra based on marks obtained in mandatory subjects in 10+2. The admission for first-year engineering degree courses is done through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). To become eligible for CAP the candidates need to register their application online. They can visit the website of the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra and fill-up the form. Candidates have to report to the Application Form Receipt Centre (ARC) for document verification. Candidates will be shortlisted for CAP rounds based on their score in the entrance exam and preferences given by them for courses and colleges. If anyone has CMAT percentile between 95 and 100, he/she can apply for Jaipuria Institute of Management. Remember the CMAT/MAT/XAT/CAT score contribute to 45% weightage only during admission process, other factors like your GD, PI, past experience, and your academic performance contribute to 65%. If you do well in others too, with such decent score in CMAT you might be eligible for good scholarship as well. Now, regarding the second part of the question. The ministry of Human resource has place both Principal L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research and Jaipuria Institute of Management in the top 75 b-schools of India. So, both are good. However the choice is yours. You can do analysis, gather placement data, most importantly it depends on where you live. I hope you know that Mumbai is the most expensive city to live in India. My preference would be Jaipuria Institute of Management - Lucknow.
