The students from the institute are hired by many big construction companies as an employee and many construction sites as an intern. Mumbai is one of the fastest developing cities of India and has a large scope in construction era for civil engineers which the same is reflected in the placement stats of the institute. The average placement for the undergrads is 8 LPA (civil students) and 14 LPA is the highest package offered to the student placed in Ultratech Cement Pvt. Ltd. Though the civil students prefer to run their own business and work on the own construction sites rather than jobs, but jobs could be a better learning experience to know the corporate world. Here, the admission is done through MHT CET and JEE Mains and one can qualify with 150 marks in MHT CET and 200 marks in JEE Mains for the civil branch.

Mumbai is a one of the well-known engineering colleges in Maharashtra and is said to be ranked second in Maharashtra after College of engineering, Pune (excluding IITs and NITs). Getting into this college through MH-CET requires a lot of efforts too. Placements of VJTI are pretty good when compared to other government colleges in Maharashtra.
