All admissions in engineering colleges in Maharashtra are via MHTCET. Last year, almost 40,000 seats could not be filled up which means there was no cut-off. This year, the same thing is expected. If you have a valid score, you are bound to get admission.

Since you JEE score is bit low you will face some sort of problems in getting admission at MIT - Pune, wait till last round or more precisely start preparing for your others exams.

There are bunch of good government colleges in Maharashtra and they fill their seats through MHCET exam other than colleges like IIT, Bombay and NIT, Nagpur (JEE).
The colleges are COEP, VJTI, ICT, Government Engineering College (Amravati, Aurangabad, Chandrapur, Jalgaon, Karad and Avasari), Walchand College of Engineering, HG Rai Soni, etc.
