To get admission to the MJPRU BMS course, students must fulfil the basic eligibility requirements for the course in the first place. As per official sources, students who have completed Class 12 in any stream are eligible. Those who are eligible can apply for the course. Next, after the application process, the university begins with the selection process. Students are selected. The selection of students is done based on their merit obtained in the last qualifying exam. At last, the selected candidates must make the payment of the fee to secure admission.

Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU) was established in 1975 as Rohilkhand University. It was renamed in 1997 to honor the social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. It got the status of a residential university in 1985, when four more departments were increased. The university is recognised by the UGC and accredited with a "B" Grade by the NAAC. The university has a campus of 206 acres in Bareilly. MJPRU is affiliated with 215 colleges.  The university has been ranked 34 under the Overall by the India Today 2024.
