Yes, the University Teknologi Malaysia offers a wide variety of both on-campus and off-campus housing options for their students. UTM in Malaysia offers two types of housing options: Apartment type (a two room and a three room apartment) and Town House (two rooms). Every housing unit is furnished with basic facilities such as furniture and a refrigerator. Whereas, all residential colleges are equipped with cafeteria, multipurpose hall, minimarts, laundry services, sport facilities, guest rooms and leisure rooms. International students can avail only two scholarships at the University of Teknologi Malaysia, namely UTM Young Scholars Grant and the International Doctoral Fellowship. Both of these scholarships are offered only on the Master's and Doctoral levels. In order to avail these Uni Teknologi Malaysia scholarships for international students, overseas students must meet the eligibility criteria listed below:

As per the ratio of admissions to applications, the University of Teknologi Malaysia acceptance rate stands at 60%. Since the stats are on the higher end, we can conclude that Uni Teknologi Malaysia is a not a very competitive university to get in, as it admits more than half of the applicants. The University of Teknologi Malaysia accepts international applications through the UTM Application system SMARt (Official Application Portal) available on the university's website. Once a candidate has applied to the university and submitted all the required documents, it takes the university about 5 working days to process applications and then send out admission offers. Students must note that they need to fulfill all the Uni Teknologi Malaysia entry requirements in order to get admitted in the university.

In order to secure admission, all international students must fulfill the University of Teknologi Malaysia admission requirements listed below:
1) Undergraduate Requirements:
- A Senior High School Certificate or equivalent pre-university qualifications;
- Proof of English Proficiency; and
- Interview (only for Bachelor of Architecture & Bachelor of Science Industrial Design).
2) Graduate Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with good honors from any institution of higher learning recognised by the Senate (or equivalent);
- Proof of English language proficiency;
- CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
- Other course-specific requirements.
