International Maritime Academy is one of the finest Marine institute in Chennai. Affiliated to Annamalai University and recognised by DGCA, India. Established in the year 1999. IMA Chennai have courses ranging from UG, PG and Diplomas. They are B.Sc. Nautical Science, B.Tech Marine engineering, B.Tech Naval Architecture, Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS), GP Rating Course, BBA Shipping and Logistics, MBA Shipping Management and Logistics etc. These courses have different eligibilities as per International Maritime Academy. For B.Sc. And B.Tech, Candidates should have a minimum of 45% for PCM Subjects for PUC (12th standard. ). For GP Rating Course, 10th Pass is the eligibility. Indian Maritime University (A Central University, government of India) is the best for Marine Engineering Courses. The IMU offers the following UG courses after class 12th.
1. 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering)
2. 4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering)
3. 3-Year B.Sc. (Nautical Science)
4. 3-Year BBA (Logistics, Retailing & E-Commerce)
5. 1-Year Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science)
All admissions to the various UG (except BBA of the IMU and its Affiliated Institutes will be through all-India Online Common Entrance Tests (CETs). Candidates will be required to qualify this CET in order to be eligible for admissions to the respective Programmes. Date of commencement of Registration for IMUCET First week of April-2020. Eligibility criteria: 10+2 or equivalent (PCM - 60% average and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination. ). Note: In the case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks, it will not apply to English marks. Candidates seeking admissions to Marine Programmes are strongly recommended to have a Passport. Please note that the name in the Passport should be the same as given in the 10th standard Certificate.
