Generally, a degree with honours has a higher standard and requires more efforts in learning than an ordinary or general degree. B.A. (Hons) is more academically demanding and requires greater levels of learning and achievement. The basic difference between these two courses is that in B.A. (Hons), you study particular specialisation papers in the third years, whereas, in BA, there is no specialisation.

I don't think that you can get a good college with this rank, especially in the first counselling. You can try your luck in the 2nd counselling session as some students will leave their seats and there will be chances for other students who couldn't secure a seat in the first round of counselling.
