Journalism is a wide field where you will find number of opportunities and the fields where you can try. This course is not just limited to one choice, you will have a vast categories of options. After completing the course of journalism you may get into the field of any print media organisation, electronics media organisation, or a digital house. One may be appointed as a journalist, photographer, correspondent, copy writer/ script writer, editor of any newspaper, news channel or website, news reader, anchor, copy editor, news writer for any website, cartoonist, etc. You may even work as a freelancer where you have the opportunity to work for several organisations at one time and get paid for your work. In India there are vast options for the youngsters as media is emerging so vastly in our country that the requirements are increasing day by day. There are lots of channels like Aaj Tak, IBN 7, India TV, ABP news etc. , Newspaper like Hindustan Times, Navbharat Times, Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, Mint, The Pioneer, etc. And even the magazines. This all depends on your choice and interest.

Institute of Professional Studies, Meerut offers 3 years programme, with distance/correspondence. Students must have cleared 10+2 (any stream) with 50% marks aggregate with English as a subject. Whereas Technia Institute of Advanced Studies too offers 3-year B.J. M. C. programme with same eligibility criteria. No doubt it is affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University but it does not provide the facilities to the students. As per my knowledge both the colleges are not good for pursuing the course of journalism and mass communication because the help and facilities that should be provided are not the up to the mark. Moreover, there are no proper labs and instructions, no good environment as well as teaching standards are also not good. Moreover, students are prepared according to the professional course.

It offers 3-year full time programme of Bachelor in journalism and mass communication. One must apply and register for the course and then he/she will get selected on the basis of a small interview and 12th marks. The student must have cleared 12th with 50% marks in any stream. The placement process is good here. Following are the recruiters visiting here - Vodafone, Airtel, Accenture, Da Milano, Shine Media, Google, etc. It offers Bachelors, Masters and doctor degree in the same course. The basic idea of the college is to provide students all the facilities, train with all the necessary skills and ethical values. Proper labs are provided, practical exposure is provided and there is a competitive course curriculum. Other facilities like gym, conference halls, computer halls, auditorium, recording room, etc. Are also available. On the other hand, Teerthanker Mahaveer University also offers 3 years full time journalism and mass communication programme.
