Yes, mathematics is a prerequisite for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering programme at MIT. The Aerospace Engineering curriculum includes advanced mathematics courses so students are expected to have foundational knowledge of mathematics. Following are the requirements for admission to Bachelor of Science programme at MIT-
- Applicants must have passed 12th.
- 4 years of English
- Mathematics, at least to the level of calculus
- Two or more years of history / social studies
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Either SAT or ACT score are required
- Letter or recommendation
- Personal statement or essay
- English proficiency test scores (TOELF, IELTS, PTE, DET) for non-native English speakers.
