No, the GRE is not typically required for pursuing postgraduate (PG) medical degrees abroad. In short, GRE is required for non-clinical post graduate programs.

Countries and universities usually have specific entrance exams. For example

  • USA: Requires the MCAT (not GRE).
  • UK: Requires exams like UCAT or PLAB exam.

For B.E./B.Tech (UG) Candidates:

Eligibility: 10+2 with PCM, 50% (45% for SC/ST).

Admission: TNEA (state quota) or JEE Main (management quota).

Cutoffs (2024) : CS /IT (140-160 / 200), Mech / Civil (80-100 / 200).

To get into Hi-Tech Institute of Technology  we have to go through an entrance exam in some states seprate entrance exams are conducted for it like in Odisha (OJEE) . and in some states Seats also filled via JEE Main score. They also take admission on merit basis If seats remain after entrance rounds, they also take admission on merit basis  based on 12th-grade marks (Physics, Maths, Chemistry/Bio).

For B.Tech admission is through EAMCET (AP EAPCET) Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test. Admission is through counselling based on EAMCET rank, al though few seats may be available through management quota. For PG, admission is through GATE or PGECET (APPGECET)  Andhra Pradesh Postgraduate Engineering Common Entrance Test. For eligibility You must have completed 10+2 (Intermediate) with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry (or related sciences) from a recognised board. Minimum aggregate requirement is typically 45% for general category.
